Red Moon Night
A Novella

Noah Rivera, a recently divorced literature professor, drives through rural New Mexico at night to surprise his estranged daughter on her ninth birthday when he encounters La Llorona, the wailing woman, a malicious spirit that has haunted his family for generations. He narrowly escaped her clutches as a young boy, but she has found him. During this waking nightmare, Noah must discover the secret to giving La Llorona peace and avoid passing the curse onto his daughter.

Written in the epistolary style (Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, Stephen King’s Carrie), Red Moon Night is a found item story consisting of journal entries, transcribed audio recordings, letters, emails, newspaper articles and artistic renderings to recount what can be considered “a haunting” that spans multiple generations.
